Dying Google

I whole-heartedly agree!

Google is an amazing entrepreneurial petri dish. Yet at the same time, it is doomed to disappoint nearly every entrepreneurial type who works there. This is key: Google is sowing the seeds of its own eventual destruction. It can’t help doing so.

The Final Days of Google: It is going to be an inside job.

Now this is interesting! Basically, it seems that the more brilliance they come up with, the less efficient they become. The interesting thing though, is that I read a different take a few months ago ( I wish I could remember where) that their real problem is that they are hiring all this massive brain power, but they are not really using it. Essentially the article I read strongly implied that they just hire people to keep them away from their competitors and they just get paid to twiddle their thumbs and do nothing, as long as it isn’t for Yahoo or Microsoft. The problem highlighted there was that you have all these super-geniuses that are going to get bored and pissed off and have a mutiny. Also, it seemed like this was not a google-specific phenomenon. As I remember it, they sort of “accused” most of the big companies of similar practices.

If only I could remeber the source of this… it could be total bunk for that matter 🙂
