Dumbphones dominate – not iPhones or Android

I’ve known this to be true for some time, but now there’s finally an article about it…

Its interesting to think that most of the people who read my blog have smartphones, and seeing people without a smartphone is probably a rare thing… but its clear we are the minority – dumbphones still rule the market.

Of the 234 million cell phone users in America last year, a dominating 73 percent own traditional (aka non-smart) devices, according to market researcher comScore. Despite their more popular mindshare, intelligent devices like the Apple iPhone and phones based on Google’s Android operating system own barely a quarter of the market.
